The Italian Parliament has changed the rules for the circulation of electric scooters. The real novelty is that micro-mobility vehicles outside built-up areas will be allowed to circulate only on bicycle paths or on paths solely reserved for bicycles.

However, fortunately for the many enthusiasts, practically nothing changes in the rules for circulating in cities and urban centers: electric scooters will only be allowed to travel on roads with a speed limit of no more than 50 km/h, in areas reserved for pedestrians (respecting the limit in pedestrian areas) and on tracks, areas and paths reserved for bicycle circulation (always respecting the speed limit).
